Treatment Instructions for Algae Infested Pools

4 days to sparkling clean water

Step 1

Adjust your pH and alkalinity to proper ranges.

Brush the walls and bottom of the pool to lift and stir up the algae. Add a double dose of chlorine, liquid or granular. Best results when shocked in the evening.

• 50,000L pool – 10L of Liquid Chlorine OR 1 pouch of HTH Chlorine
• 100,000L pool – 20L of Liquid Chlorine OR 2 pouches of HTH Chlorine

DO NOT PROCEED TO STEP 2 UNTIL THE GREEN COLOUR HAS CHANGED TO CLOUDY GREY/BLUE. THIS STEP COULD TAKE SEVERAL DAYS.

Step 2

Mix a concentrated Algaecide in a pail of water and pour around the perimeter of the pool and let it circulate for 4 hours.
• 50,000L pool – half bottle (500ml)
• 100,000L pool – full bottle (1L)

After following the Algaecide to the circulate, switch from your pump to “RECIRCULATE”. Mix a Clarifier Floc in a pail of water and pour around the perimeter of the pool. Allow this to recirculate for 8 hours then shut the pump off overnight.

Step 3

Now vacuum out the algae. Set your filter to “WASTE” and bring your backwash hose to the street and vacuum out the algae. You will lose water! Once finished, return the filter to the “FILTER” position.
